The university’s cutoffs this year, too, are unlikely to dip with the CBSE deciding to not challenge a Delhi High Court order to continue with the ‘moderation policy’. Marks moderation refers evaluators doing upward or downward revision of marks of students based on how difficult their examination paper was. This is said to be the reason for inflated scores in Class 12 board exams — which in turn lead to impossibly high cut-offs.
