A large number of students and parents had their anxious moment on Saturday as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) did not upload Class-10 results of Panchkula region on its official website throughout the day.
It was only after 5.30pm that schools and students could access the results, while the results of other regions including Delhi, Allahabad, Chennai, Dehradun and Trivandrum were out in the afternoon.
While CBSE’s regional director Joseph Emmanuel was silent on the issue, a Panchkula-based parent Anuradha Aggarwal said, “It was highly unprofessional on the part of the board that it kept students and schools on toes since morning. It should have released the result of all the regions in one go as it did for Class 12.”
Kamal Nain Jindal, an employee at a Panchkula private school, said he attended over 100 calls on Saturday and it was tough to convince them on the persisting delay at the CBSE’s end.
A principal seeking anonymity said they were told by CBSE officials that some technical issues delayed the declaration of Panchkula region’s result, which by their own admission is highly unacceptable.
“A goof-up on a day when thousands of students were waiting for the results is something which should not go unchecked and those behind it should be held accountable. It actually brings down the board’s credibility,” he added.
