Looking for the right combination of the perfect course and college? Institutions, too, are going all out these days to draw the right students. Colleges are trying to earn extra mileage through the facilities on offer.

 What’s on offer

• Gargi College: 750-seater

  auditorium, seminar halls, new

  gymnasium

• IP College: A 200-seater

  hostel, launderette service,

  computerised library, computer

  labs, stadium-look playfield

• Miranda: Revamped hostel,

  launderette service

Swish hostels, labs, new gyms, swimming pools — the list is unending. So if Miranda House is renovating its hostel blocks and adding a launderette to its existing range of facilities, IP College is flaunting its fully computerised library, computer labs and a redone soccer field.

“College is no longer about slumming it out. When a student buys a prospectus, he is looking at getting his money’s worth. Even parents consider if the college can help the student develop his talents,” said Meera Ramachandran, principal, Gargi College.
