The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the UK, is offering Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships for master’s degree courses at the UK universities.
The scholarships provide the opportunity for individuals to study for a UK Master’s degree while living and working in their home country.
Students must be Commonwealth citizens and permanent residents of a developing Commonwealth country. Students must normally hold a first degree of upper second-class standard, or higher qualification.
Scholarships are awarded to study courses including tropical forestry, education and international development, clinical trials, global health policy, education for sustainability, development management, veterinary epidemiology and public health, crisis and disaster management, and policy and public administration – international ­development.
The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarships schemes for international study in the world. Since it was established in 1959, around 29,000 individuals have benefited – 17,000 of them have held awards funded by the UK, managed by the CSC in the UK.
The scheme was established in 2002. To date, nearly 1,500 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships have been awarded. The deadline for submitting applications is May 16, 2014.
