The International Requirements Engineering Board, Germany (IREB) has authorised TUV SUD South Asia to conduct CPRE (certified professional for requirements engineering) examinations.Under the authorisation, Examination Institute of TUV SUD South Asia’s Academy, will conduct examinations in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia, Singapore, Philippines and the Middle East Region. The IREB is a non-profit organisation that has developed the CPRE certification scheme.
“With the exponentially growing software dependence of businesses, the outcome expected from most programmes are increasingly getting complex. It is, therefore, critical to identify requirements at the onset and requirements engineering helps engineers effectively define the same. It not only helps them minimise risk of failure post development, but also take into consideration every aspect of client requirements. The authorisation by IREB is a testimony of the global expertise of our academy division and we look forward to conducting the examinations in the regions allocated to us,” said Mario Rodrigues, senior vice president — management systems business division, academy division and certification division, TUV SUD South Asia.
The Academy Division of TUV SUD was founded in 2008 in India with an aim to provide specialised technical training and learning solutions. Academy Division also set up an Examination Institute in 2009 that administers the professional examinations and qualification in various sectors. Courses range from one day introduction courses to large- scale learning events that reach out to a wide array of sectors like automobiles, engineering, information technology, textiles, food, construction, oil and gas to name a few.
Requirements engineering (RE) refers to the process of formulating, documenting and maintaining software requirements and to the subfield of software engineering concerned with this process. In most development models, RE is presented as the first phase of the development process.
Around 16,000 professionals are certified till date for CPRE – foundation level. The IREB certificate is ideal for group of project managers, business analysts, engineers, architects, auditors, consultants, demand managers and operations managers in the IT sector.
The IREB certification model consists of multiple levels which include the foundation level which provides fundamental understanding, advanced level offers in depth knowledge in specific areas of RE and the expert level will enhance the knowledge obtained at the advanced level.
