Exams are at your doorstep and the cricket World Cup is in full swing. It can definitely be difficult for a student to concentrate on studies. Here’s how you keep distractions at bay.
1 Exams are a milestone: Remember, exams will not be repeated. Your result won’t change, no matter what, whereas the world cup comes every four years.
2 Study daily: Study regularly. Last minute studies only raise stress levels. Studying regularly will go a long way in helping you find time for activities you
3 No checking scores while studying: When studying, shun the temptation of checking the scores. Any involvement in the game would make concentration on studies difficult.
4 Use breaks to track scores: Take breaks at specific intervals to keep track of the matches. Once a habit, this can help you strike a balance between your studies and your interest in cricket.
5 No TV in the study: Do not keep a TV set in your study. This would reduce any likely distraction from studies.
6 Do not compromise on outdoor breaks: While you may really want to know what is happening on the cricket field, it is nevertheless important that you also ensure that your breaks outdoors are not compromised.
7 Do not get worked up by match scores: Avoid getting too involved in the matches such that they start affecting your mood and behaviour. Being restrained helps you focus.
8 Stay focussed on studies: Focus on your preparation for exams. Remember these exams are rungs on the ladder of success.
9 No regrets: Remember, the championship is not as important as the exams.
10 Enjoy the exams! Enjoy the exams. These are important and integral to your academic career. Their greatest significance lies in the life skills they help you develop.
