Encouraging girls to pursue a profession, UPSC topper Ira Singhal advised students at Delhi University to put their education to some good use. Singhal, who has studied at DU’s Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), was on Wednesday felicitated by the university.
Speaking to students at FMS, she lamented that many girls quit jobs despite getting the best education and advised girls to continue working. “It is really sad that some of the girls end up quitting jobs even after getting such a good education. If you don’t put this education to use then it is a loss for you and a loss for the country. Make sure you put your education to good use,” she said.
Singhal, who met vice-chancellor Dinesh Singh and senior DU officials, told students to not let failure dissuade them. She asked students to work harder every time they face failure.
“Every failure is a lesson. It is good to have problems and hurdles in your life because this is when you learn. You should learn from your failures and keep working hard. Whoever fails and learns from it, ends up doing good,” she said.
