DU continues the trend of high cut-off with its second list

Delhi University continued with its trend of releasing high cutoff with its second cutoff list even as some of the subjects were closed for admissions at many colleges.

While Humanities courses observed a dip in the range of 0.25-2 percentage points, Science courses saw dip of 1-3 percentage points. Some of the Science and Humanities courses were shut at many colleges. B.Com (hons) and Economics (hons) did not see much dip in the cutoff .

Admission closed

In Sciences courses, Zoology (hons) has been closed at least five colleges, including Ramjas, Daulat Ram, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Sri Venkateswara. BSc (Life Sciences) was also closed for admission in at least seven colleges. Most of these colleges are off campus.

Even though Sri Venkateswara College has filled on 433 out of the 1085 seats, admissions have been closed for Botany (hons), Zoology (hons), and Sanskrit (hons).

For these two courses even admissions to the reserved category is closed at some of the colleges.

BCom (hons) was closed for admission at Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Mata Sundri and Ramanujan College and Bharti College.

In Humanities, History (hons) is closed in not less than nine colleges, including Hindu, Gargi, Kirori Mal Colleges and Moti Lal Nehru College. In some of the colleges it is also closed for reserved categories.

Number of seats left

At SRCC, out of the total 674 seats only 314 seats are left. At LSR, out of 730 seats only 201 have got filled.

KMC has filled 600 seats out of the total 1385 but has closed admission for History (hons), Sanskrit (hons) and B.sc (physical sciences).

Hindu College has filled 380 seats out of the 752 seats. The college has closed Political Science (hons), BA (programme) and Zoology (hons).

Evening Colleges

Cutoff remained high even at evening colleges. At Dyal Singh College (Evening) English (hons) was at 93%, a dip of 2 percentage points. BCom (Hons) also saw a dip of 1 percentage points and was at 94%.

At Moti Lal Nehru College (Evening), BCom (hons) is at 95% while BCom and BCom (hons) is at 94% and 95% respectively. At Shyam Lal College (Evening), English (hons) is at 95%.

Off campus colleges

The dip in cutoff at off campus colleges was not very high. At Bharti College many of the courses, including English (hons), History (hons), and Political Science (hons) were closed for admission.
