I have to appear for admission counselling at Indraprastha University. Will the college return my original certificates deposited at the time of admission?
Yes, you can always request for your certificates. Produce your counselling letter and your certificates will be returned.

I need hostel accommodation. How do I apply?
Hostel accommodation is available in very few colleges of the University of Delhi. You need to apply separately to the colleges.

I had business mathematics at the plus-two level. Is this subject considered at par with maths?
Business mathematics is considered equivalent to maths for BA (honours) in economics and BCom (honours) programmes only but not for BA (honours) /BSc (honours) in mathematics.

Can vocational subjects be taken into account while computing the best-of-four percentage?
Yes, (but only with riders in some colleges). Please refer to the information bulletin for a list of vocational courses applicable for BA and BA (vocational studies) streams and the individual college prospectus.

Can more than one language be included in the best-of-four percentage?
For computing the-best-four subjects (one language and three electives) combinations, the language can be any of the core languages, including Sanskrit. If, apart from the core language, a candidate has taken another language (as an elective), it can be counted as one of the three best subjects.

I had biotechnology as a subject at the plus-two level. Can this be included in the best-of-three instead of maths?
Biotechnology is NOT a substitute for mathematics for BSc physical sciences, applied physical sciences, honours courses in physics, electronics, chemistry, and instrumentation. For life science courses, biotechnology is considered as an alternate to biology. Biotechnology can also be included among the best three electives for arts and commerce courses.

I have a compartment in one subject in my Class XII exam held last year. Can I seek admission to DU?
Yes, you can take provisional admission (provided your marks percentage is in the cut-off list of any college), subject to passing the compartment examination within a stipulated time. If you have been placed in compartment in more than one subject, then you are not eligible for admission.

I have a gap year. How does it affect my chances?
The rules of the University of Delhi do NOT stipulate refusal to a candidate because of a gap year. Gap-year applicants are considered at par with other current year candidates with regard to their cut-off percentages unless any particular college has stated any specific rule in its prospectus.

What is the process for cancellation of admission?
For cancellation of admission from a course, you have to give an application to the college stating the reason why you want to cancel your enrolment.
