Union Minister for Minority Affairs A R Antulay has said, that every institution of higher learning in the country should offer courses, which would ensure employment to students.
Delivering the convocation address at the Karunya Institute of Technology and Science last evening, he said higher education offered by institutions should not only fulfil the country's needs but also help students in getting employment.
Mr Antulay called upon institutions to undertake multi- disciplinary and multi-institutional research activities in key areas like bio-technology and bio-mass energy.
Recalling the ordeals undergone by the Karunya Institute to secure deemed university status, because of its minority status, he said, that was why the UPA government had amended the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act. He lauded the constitution of the Commission as a significant move contributing to the development of minorities.
