It was a clean sweep by girls in Rajasthan who grabbed the top five merit slots in Class 12 Arts examination, according to the results declared by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) on Monday.
Board chairman BL Chaudhary summed up the results as, "Girls have made history."
The girls have even outshined boys on top 10 positions which were shared by 24 girls and three boys.
Kota’s Sweta Choubey of Pragati Public School topped the list with 95.6%, followed by another Kota girl Kiran Panwar (95%) of Shiv Jyoti School and Simran Agarawal (94.8%) of Decent Public Convent School (Shahpura) in Jaipur.
The three boys who shared the sixth, seventh and the ninth positions with the girls are Kan Singh Charan, Neeraj Sharma and Prakash Chand Meena respectively.
The overall pass percentage remained 86.3% this year which showed a gain of over 4% against that of the last year of 82.64%. The girls’ pass percentage has been 89.21 while that of boys remained at 83.5. About 45.25% girls passed with the first division marks while only 31.43% boys could get the first division.
The other girls who figured on the merit list are Kavita Kumari (94.6%), Komal Sharma (94.2%), Bhanu Priya, Sunita Rajawat, Nikita Khangarot, Rituraj Rathor all scored 93.8% , Gangotir Bai, Puja Kumari Kumawat, Nikita Soni, Vinita yadav, Swati Shukla, Neha, Rupal Gupta, Shushila Yadav, Manisha Agarwal, Rashi Bhandari got 93.4%. Anushka Jain Sunita Kumari Jajra, Shamiksha Bidhudi, Arti Sharma and Vandana Agarwal passed with 93.2 percent.
Kan Singh Charan (94) Neeraj Sharma (93.8) and Prakash Chand Meena (93.4) are three boys who could find place in class 12 arts merit list.
