Nearly 89% students passed the HSSC (class XII) exam conducted recently by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary (GBSHSE), an official said today. The results were announced today, April 27.
GBSHSE chairman J R Rebello said, “Total 88.77% students cleared the examination. Out of the 16,521 students who appeared, 14,666 have cleared the exam.”
He said the results have shown that girls have outshone the boys in the HSSC exam.
As per the GBSHSE, the stream-wise passing percentage is: 88.12% for science, 87.53% (arts), 96.70% (commerce) and 88.15% (vocational)
Rebello said total 23 schools reported 95% and above result.
The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education manages the SSC, Class 10 and HSSC, class 12 education in its affiliated schools.
A release by the GBSHSE said that the number of candidates registered under the whole category (without exemption) for the HSSC Examination of March 2017 was 16,521, of which 16,520 candidates appeared and 14,666 candidates passed. The number of candidates registered under exempted category for the HSSC Examination of March 2017 was 379, of which 379 candidates appeared and 136 candidates passed. The total passing percentage for this category was 35.88%. The details are as following:
Students have been informed by the Goa Board that the official mark sheets will be provided to them in due course. Those not scoring minimum pass marks will have to write the supplementary examination. The information about the application and procedure to apply for the supplementary examination will be out soon.
