Haryana to honour teachers

Haryana Govt has announced two schemes for teachers who have done exemplary work in education.

Haryana governmant has announced that it has introduced two new schemes to honour teachers and social workers who did exemplary work in the field of education, social sector, co-curricular activities and sports.

Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said the new awards, carrying a cash reward of Rs.21,000 and Rs.5,000, would be given to 15 people.

He added that the awards would encourage teachers and social workers to "put in more into their noble profession".

He said that besides teachers and social workers, NGO activists and retired teachers would also be considered for the awards.
