In India there is still a dearth of well-regulated internships mediums as compared to abroad but things are changing. Freshers should be careful as to where they are doing their internships. It should depend upon their interest and aspirations.
Little homework and good research helps a lot. One should also take the internship seriously as its your first step in the professional field. Do not expect remunerations and if you get any, take it as a bonus as the experience one gains is priceless. The comfort level and attitude varies from company to company. Banks, advertising agencies, media houses, NGOs are the best places.
