In the run up to Delhi University’s admissions, The Hindustan Times Campus Calling counselling sessions were organised on June 2 at Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and June 3 at Army Public School, Noida and Shri Ram School, Gurgaon, to give parents and students a chance to get all their queries answered. Chaired by the finest faculty from DU and career counsellor Usha Albuquerque and her team, the event saw over a thousand walk-ins. Star RJs from Fever 104 FM, Nitin, Manu and Suhas talked about unconventional careers in their own fun way.

“Think hard about what you want. Then think about your capability - do you think you have it in you to study a particular subject for three years?,” said Albuquerque.

While Dr. Poonam Sethi, Head of Department B.Com, Hindu College, said “I cannot emphasise enough the importance of choosing course over college,” Dr. Shormishtha Panja, Professor of English Literature at the Post Graduate Department of DU, cleared that “English is not just reading novels. It’s about learning to structure an argument logically and cohesively- skills that companies are missing in their otherwise overqualified recruits.”
