Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s school, Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Ranchi, has produced the top three rankers of Jharkhand in JEE Mains exams 2015, the results of which were announced on Monday. Officials of the school have confirmed this information.
Dhoni had studied in Jawahar Vidya Mandir right from class 1 to class 12. The school has become a popular spot in Ranchi, where his fans from far off pay visit to get a glimpse of the playground where their captain cool grew up playing.
Even Dhoni, during his visits to Ranchi, often pays surprise visits to his school and interacts with his teachers.
The three toppers from the school, who are also the toppers in the state, are PN Aditya, Pranjal Prasoon and Shashank Shekhar. While Aditya scored 314 out of 360 and topped the state, Prasoon and Shekhar scored 311 and 305 respectively in the engineering entrance examination.
The trio is now preparing for the JEE Advance and are confident about bagging a berth in one of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). They aspire to achieve success in their field just like Dhoni did in cricket, said school teachers.
School principal AK Singh was elated by the achievement of his students. He said that the school has a history of producing successful engineers, and by topping the state this year, it has maintained the legacy.
“It gives me immense pleasure to see our students top the state. I am sure they will also crack JEE Advance and make us proud once again,” Singh said.
