The list will decide students’ eligibility for admission to institutes across the country, including National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information and Technology (IIITs) and Government-Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).

The All India Ranks (AIR) of the candidates was prepared after normalising 60% weightage for the JEE test score and with 40% weightage for Class 12 marks.

Over 11 lakh aspirants – including 60,000 from Kota – appeared for the JEE Main examination on May 3 (offline) and May 9-10 (online) at 124 cities across the country.

The JEE rank list is crucial for aspirants like Rakesh Kumar from Bharatpur, who was selected in the JEE Advanced 2016 but failed to get a rank good enough to land a subject of his choice in one of the IITs.

With the declaration of results, joint counselling for around 34,781 seats – pertaining to 629 courses in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 GFTIs – will commence on June 24.

All aspirants will be eligible to participate in the joint counselling session, Amit Ahuja, academic counsellor with Kota’s Allen Career Institute, said.
