Gandhi Bhavan organises Gita Discourse every Sunday 10am to 11am. New session will commence on July 29, 2012 at 32, Chhatra Marg, Delhi-7. Gita lessons are imparted to students as part of this discourse.
Conceptualised by the vice chancellor, the Gyanodaya Express took the students to Ahmedabad, Wardha, Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore to educate them about navy ships and dockyards, Sabarmati Ashram and the Indian Space Research Organisation. The maiden educational and recreational excursion with approximately 1,000 NSS and NCC girl students, accompanied by revered and experienced mentors, went on the journey on July 8, 2012 and visited five cities over 12 days. Based on the journey, students will study compartment design, food habits, and sociological aspects of geography, agriculture, language and literature, ethnicity of people of the region. They will also write a book review each.
Annual flower show
The Annual Flower Show of the university is usually held in February. Last year, it was held at the Mughal Garden in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.
The cultural festival of the university features its colleges. Contests such as choreography, street play, street dance, Ghazal singing, photography and painting are held.
