MPhil and short-term courses in regenerative medicine
Manipal University’s Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine is going to introduce an MPhil programme in regenerative medicine in January 2011. It has also introduced other courses in regenerative medicine. These include a ten-day course, weekend courses for professionals and a one-month certificate course.

The registration process for the short-term courses will begin on October 1, 2010. The classes are likely to start in December, 2010. Classes for the ten-day course are also slated to begin in December 2010.

Students with bachelor’s/master’s degrees in life sciences, MBBS, MD, BDS, MDS, BE biotechnology and other allied sciences can apply for the one-month certificate course

National level school quiz invites inquisitive candidates
Idea, a telecom major, has launched a national inter-school quiz aimed at all round personality development of children.

The Country’s leading quiz programmer and host, Derek O'Brien, will be the quiz master. Christened ‘Kaho (speak out) what’s your idea’, the quiz will reach out to over two lakh children in 3,000 schools across 100 Indian cities. The programme will be open for students of classes VIII and XII; and the members of the jury, during the school and city level screening, would comprise of principals, counsellors, and teachers from across the country.
