Jamia to offer admission to its PhD programme
The process of inviting Application Forms for admission to PhD programme at Jamia Millia Islamia has begun for 2010. The Application Forms for admission can be downloaded from the Jamia Millia Islamia website www.jmi.ac.in and application Forms along with required documents accompanied by a crossed Demand Draft of R1,000 in favour of Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia can be submitted to respective departments. Guidelines for admission, including eligibility criteria, categories of exemption from Entrance Test etc are all available on the university website. The last date of receiving completed applications forms is October 25.
Manipal signs MoU with L V Prasad Academy
Manipal University (MU) and L V Prasad Film & TV Academy have come together to provide their expertise to potential students of management, focusing in the field of media & entertainment. L V Prasad Academy will be an Academic partner with Manipal University, by providing academic training, infrastructure and networking links.
The two year MBA is divided into four semesters. The first three semesters of the MBA program will be conducted in Manipal University's media and entertainment campus in Bangalore.
Those who choose film studies will study at LV Prasad Film and TV in Chennai or Whistling Woods in Mumbai. Students who chose broadcast will work with some production house or radio station in the final semester.
“We always felt that there was a need to produce professionally trained skilled human capital in media industry. Our programme is very unique as no good university offers a specialisation in media and entertainment," says S Madhusudhan, senior VP, Media & Entertainment, Manipal Education.
