Eligible candidates can download the final option form, fill it up and submit it along with the required demand draft drawn in favour of Jawaharlal Nehru University, payable at New Delhi, by June 24, 2011, for allotment of the university based on their options vis-à-vis their merit positions.
University of Southampton offers new course in MSc space systems engineering
The MSc in space systems engineering at Southhampton is suitable for physics and engineering graduates and will focus on the design of all the elements to make up a space mission. It will give scientists and engineers the essential expert knowledge and skills to enable them to compete for jobs in the fast-growing world of space engineering.
The course will provide knowledge and understanding of the space environment, spacecraft system and subsystem design and how the spacecraft industry functions. It will include the following core modules:
Spacecraft engineering design: Using case studies in each of the major mission types (communications, science, remote sensing and manned missions), concurrent engineering design
Spacecraft instrumentation: Assessing the requirements for spacecraft instrumentation and the different types of instruments flown on spacecraft
Spacecraft structural design: An overview of the issues that need to be addressed in the design of spacecraft structures and mechanisms and an appreciation and understanding of the development of the whole spacecraft structural design process.
