FMS invites entries for entrepreneur challenge
The E-cell of the Faculty of Management Studies (under DU) invites entries from colleges all across the world to participate in the International Entrepreneurship Challenge 2009. The event will see student groups presenting their innovative business plans. Winners, for whom a total seed money of Rs 6 crore has been earmarked, will get the opportunity of finding venture capitalists for their projects. Besides the funding, winners will also bag Rs 50,000 as prize money – the purse for the first runner-up being Rs 25,000. The contestants will come under four groups — undergraduates, graduates, corporates and start-ups — and all the winners will stand to receive mentorship from industry experts in India and abroad.

KNC’s English fest
Kamala Nehru College’s (KNC’s) English department is going to organise its annual literary festival Litluminous ’09, on October 27, 2009. The year's theme is “Exploration of Alternative Realities Across Different Media.” The activities lined up for the event are paper presentation, drama, mime or monologue performance, creative writing and graphic narrative competitions.


Venky’s economics fest to go green, global
Sri Venkateswara College’s economics festival, which went national in 2005, is going international this year. The college’s economics association expects teams from universities from the Asia-Pacific region to take part in Blisspoint 2009, slated for October 27-29. It also plans to host a closing ceremony and a cultural exchange (Oct 23-Nov 3) with 15 Pakistani and six Sri Lankan delegates confirmed for the event.

Focusing on the issue of inclusive growth and the environment at Blisspoint, organisers plan to ‘go green’ and propagate the idea of “reduce, reuse and recycle” through the fest and other events in the association’s calendar.

Indo-French meet on nanoscience
An Indo-French workshop-cum-international conference on nanoscience and nanotechnology will be organised by Ansal Institute of Technology, Gurgaon, at its campus from October 12-16 and it is supported by Department of Science and Technology, Union Ministry of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences.
