As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not allocated any centre in Rohtak for All India Pre-medical Test (AIPMT) re-examination, students from the Haryana town will have have to go to Chandigarh or Delhi to take the test on Saturday.
When the last exam was conducted on May 3, nearly 4,000 students from various districts of Haryana had appeared for the entrance test at 17 different locations in Rohtak for over 3,800 medical seats.
The Supreme Court had scrapped the AIPMT examination because of a question paper leak and the answer sheet was circulated with the help of electronic devices during the exam on May 3 after Rohtak Police had unearthed the irregularities and several persons were arrested.
It cancelled the test after investigators said answer keys of 123 questions were transmitted through 75 mobile phones in Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Haryana and several other states.
In the past, only Rohtak was allocated as the AIPMT entrance test centre for Haryana but this time the city was dropped by the CBSE.
A student from Karnal preparing for Saturday's test said while applying online she had to opt for either Delhi or Chandigarh as her examination centre. She will go to Chandigarh for the re-test.
"This time Rohtak station did not appear and students did not have any other option. I have to travel early in the morning to report at the examination center on time," said the 18-year-old.
