National Scholarship for school students

The Lore India Foundation Scholarship Trust, a social entrepreneurial venture initiated by the Lore India Foundation Pvt Ltd, has announced the launch of a scholarship programme that is open to school students from classes 10, 11 and 12 across India. More than 100 students will be identified through a scientifically-evolved Learning Aptitude Test (LAT). Qualifying students will receive cash scholarships of Rs. 5.5 crore and also benefit from valuable mentoring and coaching provided by renowned academicians. Students will have to apply online on Registrations open on July 14, 2014.

Chevening Scholarships

The number of Chevening scholarships will be 150 for 2015-16 period and £2.4 million ( Rs. 24.5 crore approx) will be allocated from the current £600,000 ( Rs. 6 crore approx) during the next two years. Chevening scholarships are UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and partner organisations. Awards are typically for a one-year master’s degree. Applications for 2015/16 scholarships will open on August 1 this year. Check for updates.

Singapore-India Joint Research Grants, 2015

Applications are invited for Singapore-India Joint Research Grants from Indian and Singapore scientists/researchers to submit their proposals for joint research. This research addresses critical technologies in the area of advances in chemistry, biology and technology for medicine. The research projects will be funded for a maximum of three years and is anticipated to commence in May 2015. A maximum of Rs. 60 lakh per joint project ( Rs. 20 lakh) per year to the Indian applicant will be granted. The application deadline is July 31, 2014. For details, visit
