Interested in working for the government of India? You will then be definitely interested in the Staff Selection Commission or SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam. It is held every year for recruitment to non-technical Group B and Group C non gazetted posts in various government ministries, departments and organisations.

Citizen’s Charter

A Citizen’s Charter released by the SSC said its mission was to select suitable candidates for the government in an objective and transparent manner at the group B (non-gazetted) and group C (non-technical) levels. SSC aims to develop recruitment processes to enable hiring of manpower conducive for good governance. Hiring processes are totally objective and impartial.

SSC’s aim, the Charter said, was to provide suitable and adequate manpower in time to the user organisations and assure job applicants total satisfaction “through zero error tolerance, timely results and immediate nomination.”

Giving details of candidates who had appeared for all of SSC’s examinations, the Charter said 1.77 crore candidates applied for the nine All India Open Examinations advertised during 2014-15.
