St Stephens college principal Valson Thampu lashed out at alumni for alleging that they were not allowed inside the campus to hold a prayer meet. He said they did not have the right “to gatecrash”.
Thampu, in two Facebook posts, attacked the alumni for not caring about people from under-privileged sections of the society.
“Not one of them, for example, has instituted a need-based scholarship in St. Stephen’s. Many of them are rich enough to do so...,” he said.
Thampu’s comments comes days after some alumni including noted historian Ramachandra Guha and chief economic advisor Arvind Subramanian faced problems while entering the premises.
“No permission was sought to hold any meeting on the College campus by any of them.., “he said.
