Fashion takes to the streets! With the graduating students of JD Institute of Fashion and Technology bringing out their creations with their Annual Awards 2006, they seemed to go all out to get the models dressed to kill.

Held at Hotel Ashoka over two days, the fashion fiesta saw the presence of many well-known names such as Rohit Bal and Leena Singh of the Ashima-Leena duo assessing the newest talents.

Anchored by Shamsher Luthra, the event was not just a bright spot for creative talent but also resplendent with the classic Luthra jokes that had the audience in splits. The designs were new and looked as if coming out from a young ambitious mind.

The colour pallete ranged in a variety of bright colours, fabrics and accessories. The students drew inspiration from the streetwear from various countries ranging from Shanghai to Los Angeles.

The clothes ranged from jeans to skirts to gowns. These dresses were complemented with chunky pieces of jewellery in gold, silver and diamonds. Needless to say RC Dalal, executive director of the institute was a happy man.

The designs were a refreshing change and the students’ talents held a lot of promise for a bright future in the fashion undustry in India.
