TN HSC +2 result 2018 released, 91.1% students pass

Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 result 2018 was announced by the state’s directorate of government examinations on May 16. Students can check their result on the official website tnresults.nic.in

91.1% students passed the Class 12 board examinations. The pass percentage of girls is 94.1 and of boys is 87.7.

Of the 8,60,434 students who appeared for the examination, 7,84,081 cleared it.

The highest pass percentage was recorded in Virudhu Nagar (97.05), followed by Erode (96.35) and Tiruppur (96.18).

TN HSC +2 result 2018: Here’s how to check

1) Visit the official website for Tamil Nadu results at tnresults.nic.in

2) Key in your registration number and date of birth

3) Click on ‘Get Marks’

4) View your result and take a print out

The Tamil Nadu Board HSC +2 exams started on March 1 and ended on April 6 this year.

Last year, Tamil Nadu witnessed a marginal improvement in the performance of students in the TN HSC +2 exams as the overall pass percentage was recorded at 92.1 as compared to 91.4 in 2016.

The directorate said that out of the 893,262 students, who took the exam, 822,838 passed. Girls performed better with a pass percentage of 94.5 as compared to 89.3% for boys. It said 1,171 students scored over 1,180 out of 1,200 marks.

Virudhnagar topped all the districts with a pass percentage of 97.85.

The state did not release the names of the toppers and its education minister KA Sengottaiyan said that naming them would put additional pressure on students who scored less than the toppers. Students across the state welcomed the government’s decision to refrain from naming the toppers immediately.

Note: The date for Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Class 10 examination has not been announced yet.
