Tripura Class 10 exam: Boys outshine girls, 67.38 pass percentage

Agartala: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE)-conducted Class 10 examinations ( Madhyamik) recorded 67.38 pass percentage with the boys putting in a better performance than girls.
Declared on Tuesday morning, the results recorded an increase hike in pass percentage compared to the previous year’s 66.14%.A total of 51,294 candidates were enrolled for the exam, and 49,375 appeared for it.
Of the 49,375 candidates, 37,122 were regular ones. Eighteen students throughout the state made it to the top ten ranking, with boys outnumbering the girls. Arnab Chowhan from Agartala’s Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School stood first in Madhyamik, scoring 687 out of 700. Priditi Das from Amarpur English Medium Higher Secondary School in South District stood second with 671, leaving the third position to Sagar Chakraborty, also from Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School, with 668.
“ The Madhyamik exam in 2018 will be conducted based on the new syllabus. The students will appear for five subjects instead of seven in the exam. Of a total of 100, they would give board exams of 80 marks and the remaining 20 would be for internal assessment. So, the Board will declare grade marks only,” TBSE chief Mihir Kanti Deb told the media at the TBSE office on Tuesday morning.
Higher secondary humanities and commerce will be announced tomorrow, he added.
