Of the 49,375 candidates, 37,122 were regular ones. Eighteen students throughout the state made it to the top ten ranking, with boys outnumbering the girls. Arnab Chowhan from Agartala’s Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School stood first in Madhyamik, scoring 687 out of 700. “ The Madhyamik exam in 2018 will be conducted based on the new syllabus. The students will appear for five subjects instead of seven in the exam. Of a total of 100, they would give board exams of 80 marks and the remaining 20 would be for internal assessment. So, the Board will declare grade marks only,” TBSE chief Mihir Kanti Deb told the media at the TBSE office on Tuesday morning.
