India is less than a month away from electing for itself a new leader and the excitement around the biggest display of democracy is addictive to say the least. Each move of all politicians is being watched closely and people on social media do not refrain from debating and deconstructing their strategies.
The funnymen are busy getting kicks out of the election craze too. Hundreds of spoofs taking digs at the bigwigs have sprung up recently on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Fake handles trying to poke fun at big names are a rage on Twitter. "Kejriwal's Diary" and other parody accounts of Kejriwal, Omar Abdullah, Journalist-turned-AAP member Ashutosh, etc. are aggressively being shared and discussed.
YouTube, the video-sharing website, is flooded with clips ridiculing the politicians too.
Simply put, no one is spared. Take a look at 10 such spoofs:
1. Dukhdarshan News: A. Tragediwal
With a bunch of kids as its face, this video is a tongue-in-cheek effort in a cute way. A little girl takes on the role of a TV news presenter and a kid acts as Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal who is shown plucking rose petals to decide whether he will enter politics or not.
Taking digs at Kejriwal for 'U-turns' and 'dharnas', the video, with almost a million views, has gone viral. Take a look:
2. Bollywood Aam Aadmi Party: Arnab's Qtiyapa
YouTube channel TheViralFeverVideos shot to fame after its parody on the popular TV show MTV Roadies went viral. The channel received tremendous fame and appreciation and pioneered comedy efforts on Youtube. They recently produced a spoof on popular TV presenter Arnab Goswami and Kejriwal.
The 17 minute video, which has more than three million views, brings Bollywood into the mix by wrapping the discussion around all ‘parties’ trying to ‘change Indian cinema forever’. Indirect references to Kejriwal, Goswami and a few other top leaders are hard to miss:
3. Nayak 2: The Common Man Rises
This spoof by the popular comedy collective AIB, with over 3.2 million views, was so popular that Kejriwal also tweeted it.
Complete with his sweater, muffler, cap and coughing, this video shows a fake Kejriwal struggling with choosing a party symbol. The video also features a cameo by ‘Mr Sanskari’ — Alok Nath.

4. Dharna Dance feat. ‘Yo Yo Kejru Singh’
Another AIB spoof, this one features 'Kejriwal' in a music video for popular Bollywood song 'Lungi Dance'. Taking digs at Kejriwal's dharnas, his four-wheeler, WagonR, and 'topi', it will leave you in splits.

5. Krrish 3 Spoof: Narendra Modi as Hrithik Roshan
This Krrish 3 trailer-turned spoof has Modi's face smartly ‘photoshopped’ on Hrithik's and a voiceover that talks of Modi's arrival to save the country from corruption and dynastic politics.
It may not have many views, but it will definitely tickle your funny bone. Take a look:
6. The Great Feku Dictator
If you haven't seen Charlie Chaplin's gem from 1940 — The Great Dictator — this one might be a little hard for you to get. It will still be funny though.
The video, which begins with a picture of Modi flanked by Ramdev and aide Amit Shah, shows a sequence from the movie with Modi's face ‘photoshopped’ over Chaplin's. Chaplin potrayed the role of 'Hitler' in the movie. Take a look:
7. Modi meets Kejriwal under Deewar Bridge
What happens when Kejriwal finally meets Narendra Modi? Well, if it’s a spoof, hilarity ensues. From Kejriwal's "jab koi sacche dil se jhaadoo lagata hai tou poori kaenat uski madad karti hai jhadoo lagane main" to a frustrated Modi's "ye kaunse dilogue bol raha hai", this video is a must watch. Post the 30-second mark, this spoof turns into an absolute gem with Digvijaya Singh, 'aam aadmi representative' and 'aam aadmi's kid'. Take a look:
10. Har Haath Lollipop
"Kattar Soch Nahi, Yuva Josh: The Story of Hasiba Amin" a Congress ad campaigning for Congress' youth-oriented outlook got its female protagonist a lot of hate. And it also gave way to this spoof with a little girl referring to 'Dhongress' as the only party that can understand what a 'kid' wants.
