A man committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train in Masuri area, leaving behind a note requesting BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi to take care of his six-year-old daughter after his death, the police said on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash Tiwari, 32. He lived with his family in Loni area of Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad (a part of NCR — National Capital Region).
According to the police, his suicide note says, “Dear Narendra Modi Ji, you are going to become the prime minister of India. I am committing suicide due to financial problem. I request you to take care of my daughter after my death.”
Tiwari, who used to operate a canteen in a private company in Loni area, reportedly committed suicide around 4.45pm on Monday.
In his one-page suicide note, he said nobody was responsible for his death.
The police said Tiwari’s wife told them their family had been facing financial troubles for the past few years and he was under debt.
"His body has been sent for post-mortem and investigations are on," said Masuri police station SHO Subodh Saxena.
