The Congress party is all set to bounce back and give tough competition to the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming election in Delhi, says a latest survey.
According to ABP News-Nielsen opinion poll, the Congress has started consolidating its vote share and is now in a position to win at least one of the seven Lok Sabha seats in the Capital.
The Congress is likely to get 28 per cent votes, the poll said. The opinion poll has also predicted a decline in AAP’s popularity.
In a similar opinion poll conducted in January this year, ABP News-Nielsen had predicted that AAP would sweep the polls in Delhi by getting 55 per cent vote share and six of the seven seats.
The latest poll, which was conducted between March 9 and 16 with 456 respondents, has given 34 per cent votes and three seats to AAP. The BJP’s vote share is also likely to improve at the cost of AAP. While the January survey had given the party 29% votes and one seat, the recent survey has predicted 32 per cent votes and three seats to the saffron party.
After a debacle in the assembly elections in December 2013, the Congress party has emerged as the biggest gainer, as per the survey. The ABP New-Nielsen opinion poll had earlier given it just 9% votes and not a single seat.
