On the eve of his much-talked about rally in Varanasi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal questioned rival BJP's intentions.

"Is BJP planning something?" the AAP leader tweeted, after a user wrote "everyone suspects there will be violence by Arvind Kejriwal in Varanasi" on his Twitter handle and tagged Kejriwal.

The user had posted link to an article "Beware of Kejriwal's next drama at Varanasi", which suggested how Kejriwal "might set up an attack on AAP rally by people wearing saffron caps and then blame it on Modi".

The write-up went on to describe two scenarios that might ensue – Kejriwal would withdraw from the contest citing risk to his life and how anti-BJP parties would join hands to protest and offer support to the AAP leader.

"BJP can go to any extent," an AAP spokesperson said, when asked whether Kejriwal should have responded to a tweet. He pointed to how Kejriwal's car had been attacked in Gujarat.

The saffron party, however, dismissed the AAP fears. BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said, "Why should we take a person seriously who can falsely swear in the name of his children and take a u-turn."

Meanwhile, to strike a balance between the diverse communities in Varanasi, AAP plans to focus on three major issues – river, weaver and sewer – when Kejriwal takes on Modi.

The party plans distributing at the Kejriwal rally a two-page pamphlet in Hindi titled "Why I want to fight against Modi", describing the Gujarat chief minister's alleged favours to Mukesh Ambani and Adanis among other things.
