Highlight Story

It’s not everyday that one hears of someone in the industry being overtly co-operative. But actor Aamir Khan did exactly that when he went to filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s office a couple of days ago to help him cope with his hectic schedule.

Actor’s call
According to a source, Khan, who has completed his work for producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 3 Idiots, called Hirani a few days ago. “They were discussing their respective work schedules and Raju told Aamir that he was constantly occupied with work and was going mad juggling the post-production and background score. He also asserted that he didn’t want to make any compromises on 3 Idiots. Before hanging up, Aamir told Raju to call him if he needed any help and he would make it a point to be there,” elaborates our source.

Hirani then went about his work without much giving much thought to Aamir’s offer for help. “So when, an hour later, Aamir dropped in at Raju’s office, he was surprised. Aamir told him that he was good at sub-titling and had already done it for Taare Zameen Par,” recalls our source.

Director’s take
When contacted, Hirani confirmed Aamir’s timely help. “Aamir called one day to ask if all is well. I told him that it has been very hectic ever since I started post-production and I didn’t want to compromise on any aspect of the movie. There’s a lot happening at the same time here in the office. After an hour, he was in the office and offered to do the subtitles for 3 Idiots. Can you imagine any other actor doing this? It’s such a pleasure to work with him,” Hirani gushed. Guess that should put aside rumours of Khan and Hirani having a difference of opinion while work together on the film’s marketing and promotion.
