You are known to love books. What draws you to reading?

I love to read books. Reading is my passion. Any piece of knowledge is good because it enriches you as a person. It makes you a little more intelligent.

Are you only interested in fiction novels or are you also into science, history and nature?

I am interested in all that is going on around me. I even launched a magazine recently.

Do you like any particular subject?

I love science as well as history. I love what has happened in the past. I love collecting old clothes and peo

ple make fun of me because of that. But, I feel there is history attached to old clothes. I studied history till grade 12 and I was a great student.

Do you like a particular stream of science?

Science is a way of life. Indians are an extremely curious lot. We have great IT professionals and we are good at Mathematics and Science.

Has there been any persistent question that you haven’t found an answer to?

There are lots of questions. I am not a Stephen Hawking or a Swami Vivekananda to have those answers. I mean I am looking at two ends of a spectrum. But, for me, the pivotal questions are ‘Why are we here?’, ‘What brings us here?’ and ‘What are we doing with our lives?’ I don’t have an existentialist attitude toward looking at the world, but these questions are in everyone’s mind, though we tend to ignore them.

Who is the most knowledgeable person you have worked with in Bollywood?

I worked with Binod Pradhan (cinematographer of

Delhi 6

), who came up with the Bingo camera in

Delhi 6.

Rakeysh Mehra can speak on any political issue and Pankaj Kapoor knows every play that has ever been written.
