If you thought it was only the grand Indian wedding, that required an auspicious muhurat, then this new trend may spring a surprise. Some couples in the City are now planning their honeymoon based on a shubh muhurat.
Astrologer-numerologist, Manisha Koushik, says, “Many newlyweds now plan their honeymoon based on a muhurat as they want to start their first journey together on a good note. I take out muhurat for honeymoon dates based on astrology and numerology.
I also do tarot reading to tell them whether the honeymoon destination should be the hills or the seaside.” Chakradhar Bharadwaj, 26 who is getting married in November, says, “We wanted everything perfect and so we got a honeymoon muhurat.”
Numerologist Niraj Mancchanda says, “People come for marriage muhurat primarily, but ask for honeymoon muhurat alongside. I tell them the lucky and unlucky dates.” Another couple, Anu and Varun who will tie the knot in September say, “Since our marriage was fixed in a hurry, we thought of taking a muhurat for honeymoon.” Vikram Mehta, astrologer and tarot reader says, “I predict the hotel name and room number as well...even the direction of the bed.”
