Actor Aamir Khan asked Indians to support hundreds of thousands of earthquake-stricken Haitians at an event in Mumbai on Sunday.
“What has happened in Haiti is really terrible and I strongly recommend the people of India to reach out and help in every possible way,” said Aamir during an auction of Indian modern art organised to raise funds for the Haiti victims.
The event was attended by several Bollywood stars such as Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Pooja Bedi and Dino Morea. Aamir supports Hope for Haiti, an organisation raising funds for the earthquake-affected people of the island.
Asked if he wanted to convey any message to the people of Haiti, he said, “All I want want to convey to them is my love and warmth. In times like these, people need to be strong and resilient. Such happenings are beyond our control and we should look within for strength.”
