The Hrithik Roshan and Mexican star Barbara Mori’s action-romance Kites has become the first Bollywood film to debut in the North American top 10 on its opening weekend at the number 10 slot.
US film critics have praised the movie and it had generated the most number of mainstream reviews ever for a Bollywood film on its opening day. In addition, the film has opened at number five at the UK box office.Immediately after, Mori expressed her desire to do more Bollywood cinema. But before she can foray into Bollywood, the model-turned actress needs to brush up her linguistic skills and learn Hindi."I want to work with Shah Rukh Khan," says she.
Barbara and Hrithik were all praise for each other throughout the film’s promotions, the 36-year-old actor said that he has learnt a lot from his Mexican co-star.
The onscreen couple seemed unfazed toward the lukewarm response of critics and audience to their film in India. “To each his own. I don’t really trust them (critics). When I debuted they referred to me as God and then after two years they said I was finished. So I would rather follow my heart,” says Roshan.
