Akshay Kumar, whose co-production Patiala House will release two weeks from now, was the special guest at Hindustan Times No TV DAY campaign celebrations at the Inorbit Mall, Malad. The star, clad in black tee and biscuit coloured cargo, arrived on the dot at 5.30 pm, preceded by his security personnel and secretary.

In a minute, Kumar was on stage, addressing the crowd waiting to catch a glimpse of him. When the Fever 104 FM RJs tried speaking to him about his upcoming film, Kumar insisted on talking about the No TV DAY and its observed success throughout the city.

He said, "I found traffic on the way. Naturally, everyone has put their idiot boxes off and decided to move out to explore the city. I wanted to spend time with my son Aarav but I had to come and meet my fans, so I couldn’t be with him. He asked me in the morning what we’d do today. Now when I go back, we’ll spend the evening doing something really creative."

The star also said that since this year HT has successfully launched the NO TV DAY campaign, the next year, his favourite newspaper should launch a NO Biwi Day. The comment was well-received by all the male members in the crowd.

Soon after, kids joined Kumar on the stage to dance with him on the songs of Patiala House. The first kid was Unnati, a class 9 girl. After releasing a bunch of wish-balloons with the kids, Kumar went into another arena where he released more wish-balloons.

After that, amidst tight security, the actor left the venue, leaving the crowd asking for more.
