Ageless in Bollywood
Suave, sexy and well over 40 — stars of yesteryear look decades younger than their real ages. Read on to explore the secrets behind these ageless wonders, is it a regular exercise regime or a super healthy diet?entertainment Updated: Mar 03, 2010 02:34 IST
At a bash hosted by industrialist Anil Ambani in Mumbai on Sunday, almost the entire Bollywood turned up to party. And the biggest talking point of the evening was how 56-year-old Rekha, looking stunning in a black saree, was giving the younger actresses a royal complex.
Adding to the ageless diva’s charm was her once co-actor Jitendra, who at 67 looked more like his son Tushaar Kapoor’s elder brother. Yesteryear’s sultry damsel, Sri Devi, now aged 46, stunned everyone with her svelte figure and wrinkle-free face.
The youngest of the lot, Dev Anand, 86, held a captive audience.
Exploring the secrets behind these ageless wonders, we discovered that Rekha, a regular yoga exponent, follows a super healthy diet. In 1984, the ‘Rekha Diet’ was popularised in the book Rekha’s Mind and Body Temple.
Sri Devi lives on salads, does yoga five times a week and is a vegetarian. Jitendra, still among the fittest in Bollywood, never believed in diets — he works out and avoids carbohydrates.
Dev Anand attributes his agelessness to his love for work and optimism. Speculations, however, about all of them being regular users of anti-ageing medication, Botox, remain unconfirmed.
