Akshay Kumar has reportedly signed up to play a significant role in Vashu Bhagnani’s Faltu, toplining his son Jackky and beauty queen Pooja Gupta. Choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza confirms this saying, "In a day or so, the deal that is 90 per cent through, should be sealed. We’ll start shooting my directorial debut by the end of this week." The youthful romance on our education system also features Chandan Roy Sanyal and Angad Bedi.
Is the film a musical?
“That’s the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind given that I’m a director. It’s not. And even Akshay who’s a good dancer was taken on for his action and comic timing. But that doesn’t mean that my film won’t have much of dancing. A couple of well-choreographed numbers will be there, in tune with the situation and the music, he asserts.
Kumar will also be shaking a leg with Shakti Mohan, the winner of Dance India Dance-2, the television reality show on which Remo was one of the dance masters along with Geeta Kapoor and Longines Fernandes.Interestingly, though Dharmesh Yelande was expected to win the competition. Remo says that when Farah Khan announced that the winner would do a promotional video with Akshay Kumar for her first home production, Tees Maar Khan, he knew it was Shakti. “We haven’t seen too many guys in item songs,” he points out.
Knock, knock...who’s there?
Even though he’s 42, it looks as if Akshay Kumar won’t let an opportunity to indulge in some mischief, pass. The mischievous brat in him came to the fore when he went to Neel Kamal Apartments, Seven Bungalows, Andheri to meet Hina Khan, the winner of a contest on HouseFull, with his co-stars.
“Since the winner stays on the third floor of the building and there was no lift, the HouseFull team had to take the stairs. Akshay was in a jovial mood and on an impulse, rang every doorbell on the way up to the winner’s third floor house,” says our source, adding, “The residents were pleasantly surprised to learn that it was Akshay Kumar who rang their doorbell. So they all headed to the top floor to meet and greet him.”
