Though Akshay Kumar hasn’t had a massive hit to match the success of his 2008 movie, Singh is Kinng, with a hit under his belt with Housefull, and five more big-budget movies on the cards, 2010 looks bright for the actor.
Apart from aggressively promoting the Sajid Khan-directed Housefull across the country in the beginning of the year, Kumar’s been on a shooting spree.
He began the year shooting for Priyadarshan’s Khatta Meetha near Pune, then shot for Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan in Mumbai and Malshej Ghat, and spent the last month shooting for Anees Bazmee’s Thank You in Canada. The actor is currently in London shooting for Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House, but the round-the-clock shooting has seemingly taken a toll on the actor.
He recently tweeted that he’d be heading for a “much needed vacation”, “Few days of shoot left in London... Then taking off for a much needed family vacation to Canada.”
A doting father, Kumar, who has often gone out of his way to shower gifts or plan special events for his son, Aarav, has also tweeted that he is looking forward to spending time with him: “Lots of fun activities planned with Aarav... Can’t wait.”
After his holiday, the actor will wrap up the shooting for Tees Maar Khan and Vipul Shah’s Action Replayy. In Patiala House, the actor plays the role of a cricketer from London’s Southall, who dreams of playing for England, but is opposed by his father, who was a victim of racism.
