On Monday evening, ad filmmaker-turned-director Shoojit Sircar and top guys of UTV left Amitabh Bachchan's Juhu bungalow Janak, smiling. The news instantly brewed speculations of revival of the 'almost shelved' Johny Walker .
Shoojit Sircar says, "UTV guys came to meet Mr Bachchan for some other purpose. I happened to be around at the same time. It was just a coincidence that they left with me."
Sircar, who is making a presentation at the IIFA awards, met Big B for some discussion over it.
So, what's happening to Johny Walker ? "Mr Bachchan was keen to do the film. I'm unaware of what went wrong between Percept Pictures and him. As of now, nothing is happening as far as Johny Walker is concerned," he replies.
It's been almost two years since his debut film Yahaan . But Sircar doesn't seem to be in hurry for his second release. "I know that I have been sitting idle for a long time. Talks are on with a couple of production houses. I'm also working on a couple of ideas," he says.
Bachchan and Sircar have worked together in a number of ad films. "It's just my good luck that he is keen to work with me in my next film," he says.
So what's next?
"I'm definitely planning a film with Bachchan. But I say again, it is some other project and not Johny Walker. You'll hear the official announcement shortly for sure," he replies.
