Holi by the river
Imagine being woken up and thrown into the chilly waters of the Ganges, as people chant Holi hai! That is exactly what’s in store for 50 odd people who have signed up for it. Ganga Panga is a group of rafting and travel enthusiasts that customise these trips every few weeks. They started a Holi special in 2008 in Rishikesh, Uttaranchal packed with lots of water splashing activities in combination with holi and rafting specific games. You could join them by the river too. They have a three-day package (Saturday to Monday) priced at Rs 6,700 per adult (inclusive of food, stay and rafting). Call 9810783705 for details

This was Delhi’s most sought after and well-attended Holi fest last year. Holi Cow promises an eclectic set of live music and even a sundown party to wear off your hangover. They have a host of good acts playing this time too. The list includes MenWhoPause, Them Clones, Aaron James, Reggae Rajahs, Bass Foundation, MoCity, Suchet Malhotra, Jazmin, Babylon Extension and folk music from India and Europe. There’s sure to be plenty of colour, foam pools, spinklers and tents. The poolside stage will be dedicated to genres such as Electronica and Hip-Hop and the main stage will host the rockers and world musicians.
