When actors Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor visited the HT office for Stars in the City contest to promote their upcoming film, 2 States, they engaged heartily with their fans by dancing, singing a duet and answering their questions over a chat with HT City editor Sonal Kalra. Here are some excerpts.
Alia, who is your favourite co-star from 2 States other than Arjun?
I don’t like comparing co-stars because you have a different experience with each person. It is just like comparing your friends.
Arjun, as an actor, do you feel that there is a certain lack of privacy?
We are prepared for this when we become an actor. We are not the first people you would write about, we are not the last, as long as it is clean and simple. When it goes below the belt, it becomes a problem. It is a very small price to pay for the love and adulation we get. If I say I cannot eat a bhelpuri on the road, that is not the reason why I should not be an actor. It is not that life has changed so much that you can’t do normal things, but you have to make adjustments. We owe it to the audience.
Arjun, is there a funny incident you can recall from the shoot?
It is the journey of making the film, which was fun. For me it was really funny that I was finally able to use my sense of humour and sarcasm, and for a change somebody got it.
Alia: He was constantly making me laugh because of his sarcastic humour. Some people were getting upset because he was being sarcastic.
Alia, what is the your dream role?
I’d like to play a psychotic killer. Nobody would look at my face say she looks like one, so I would want to do that role.
