Asha Bhosle suggests role for Aamir

entertainment Updated: Jul 06, 2010 17:43 IST

Asha BhosleThe veteran singer feels that Bollywood should make films on foreign subjects to win Oscar. She suggests that Aamir should play the role of the first president of US, George Washington.

The advice would especially be useful for Aamir who was very close to bagging an Oscar for Lagaan in 2002. His movie Taare Zameen Par was in the line for an Oscar too. The actor attended the Oscar Awards ceremony with filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker that year. But, the film lost the award to No Man’s Land from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The singer feels that if foreign filmmakers can win an Oscar by highlighting Indian themes, then India should also make films on foreign themes and bag the Oscar..

Says Asha, “If the Englishmen are able to make Oscar (winning) films like Slumdog Millionaire and Gandhi, Aamir should also do a film on George Washington and finally win the Oscar.”

Over to Aamir.
