Talking about Deepika Padukone, Rapchik Rajni has just sauntered in to tell me something more about her. She claims that the actress was never in the reckoning for Salman Khan’s remake of the Telugu hit, Ready, to be helmed by Anees Bazmee.
Rajni asserts that she has confirmed news from her source that Asin had always been the first choice for the Hindi remake that his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri is producing.
Apparently, Sallu had even told Bazmee that he wanted to cast Asin opposite him, since she perfectly fit the character of a very chulbuli girl. Seems the director even suggested Genelia D’Souza since she features in his next, It’s My Life.
But Sallu didn’t want to look any further than Asin, says Rajni. So when the London Dreams girl was offered the remake of Ready, she was more than ready and grabbed it with both hands. Hmm.
