Shah Rukh Khan’s plush villa in Dubai is under the Income Tax department’s scanner. HT City looks at other Bollywood celebs who own properties in the desert land.

Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan
Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan bought a villa in the Sanctuary Falls development in June 2008. It is a 96-villa double-gated community home, comprising five and six bedroom villas ranging from 5,600 to 10,600 square feet. Each home has been designed with an arrival water fountain, resort style swimming pool and landscaped gardens. The price of the villas here range from 15 to 35 million UAE Dirhams. After SRK, they became the second to buy property in Dubai.

Shahrukh KhanShah Rukh Khan — Gauri Khan

Shah Rukh has maintained that he got this R 17 crore villa as a gift from a Dubai based company during 2008-09 for plugging a real estate project. He calls it an impromptu move as he fell in love with the Palm resorts. "I fell in love with the place and apparently it can be seen from the moon. I don’t get to spend enough time with my kids in India due to my security. Here I can go out with Aaryan and Suhana (his kids) to a beach, build sand castles, go fishing, do all of that with them," he said in an earlier interview. His wife Gauri has done the interior designing of the villa.

Sanjay Dutt — Manayata
Sanjay Dutt has fallen in love with Dubai due to his frequent visit to meet good friend and political leader Amar Singh and also because of his various film shooting that were
happening there. His wife Manayata too is equally fond of the place. So the couple have decided to have their own property there. If the buzz is to be believed Dutt has finalised on a plush new home that has a spectacular view of the desert in Dubai.

Salman Khan
Dubai is one city Salman Khan is extremely fond of. That is why all his major events — be it his exhibition or fashion shows — happen there. He also has many friends in Dubai; therefore the actor had once expressed his desire to own a house there. In 2008, he was offered a good proposal from the developers of Hydra Twin Towers in Jumeirah Village and he reportedly bought a property there after being highly impressed with the facilities and surroundings.
