She’s one of those rare Bollywood actors who continues to enjoy success in Bollywood even after marriage. Kajol, who recently gave birth to her second child, son Yug, says motherhood is “great fun”.
The actor says she feels as much pressure as any other parent. “Every mother feels that. Cooking has been a huge part of being a mother. I think kids have it in their heads that their moms are super chefs of the first order but I don’t cook. Fortunately, I have proved my worth in other ways. So I don’t feel bad about not cooking everyday,” she says.
Her job may be demanding, but the actor says she would never trust anyone with her children. “I have huge issues with trust. But then, you have a nanny and of course there’s my sister, my mother, my mother-in-law with whom I can trust my child completely. But no one can take care of my child as I can,” says Kajol, in one of her first interviews after giving birth.
Her husband, actor Ajay Devgn, took a hiatus from work after the birth of their son. “He is very understanding husband and a fantastic father,” she says. Are their dynamics easier on a personal level or when they are working together? “We are both very professional in that respect. When on the sets we are co-actors or he is my director and I am his actor. After we reach home, I’m the wife and he is the husband.” It’s been 11 years since the two got married, but Kajol says the honeymoon is not over yet. “We are very much in love; the way we were when we were courting.”
