Bachchan promotes Gujarat

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, also the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism, has arrived in Bhuj for the shooting of promotional advertisements.
Bachchan, who had offered to endorse Gujarat’s tourism, will start shooting for advertisements from today, official sources said, adding that the actor was likely to stay in Gujarat for a week. During his stay in the state, Bachchan is likely to complete shooting for promotional films for Gujarat tourism proposed to be shot at Bhuj, Dhola-Veera, Mandvi and Rann of Kutch in the Kutch district.
The 67-year-old actor will fly to Junagadh district on May 31 and during his two days stay in Junagadh, he aims to visit the famous Somnath temple and Gir forest.
Bachchan is likely to stay in the Sinh Sadan in the Gir forest. It has been decorated, sources added. Bachchan had to face criticism from Left parties and Congress, after he had agreed to become the brand ambassador for Gujarat Tourism.
Kerala Tourism had, too, offered him the job of a brand ambassador of the state’s tourism, but he had backed off after opposition from some of its leaders. The actor had said that he agreed to be brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism, not its chief minister.
